One of the primary missions of the Indivisible California State Network is to support Working Groups that have formed around particular needs or issues that are best served by collaboration between multiple California local Indivisible groups. Working Groups may be short-term for a limited time or circumstance or long-term and ongoing. The State Network will provide resources for statewide information, communication, and collaboration as requested by Working Group leaders. Working Groups are governed and led by their members. Most now function independently using varied communication tools such as Signal, Slack, or Zoom, or other online meeting applications.

Current Working Groups are:

  • CA U.S. Senators
    • The CA Indivisibles Senate Working Group was created in late 2025 bringing together activists from over 50 Indivisible chapters across CA. The group is co-led by Matt Stone (Indivisible East Bay) and Lili Soroceanu (Indivisible San Francisco). Our goal is to represent a unified voice of Indivisible grassroots members across CA, regularly communicating with our two US senators’ staff our legislative demands, and pushing them both to strongly and publicly stand up against the Trump regime’s corruption, lawlessness and cruelty. We have approximately 100 members and would welcome more members from all CA chapters (up to 3-4 people/group). You can request to join our Signal group where we announce meetings and discuss agenda items by emailing us with your full name and chapter/local Indivisible group affiliation by filling out the interest form with the link below.
  • Migrant Camps (formerly Detention Centers)
    • The Work Group meets weekly on Thursdays at 6:30.  Our goals include: education and networking to create a greater awareness of what is happening in Migrant Camps in California that already exist and  also about the Camps that are being planned. We send out a weekly Brief with News and actions collected from Work Group members and grassroots organizers. We have a legislation subgroup, which is developing a list of legislators who are outspoken about their concerns regarding ICE and the migrant camps and are working on legislation. We plan to develop relationships with these legislators as they craft new bills. We are also interested in Indivisible groups in the areas of existing and proposed Migrant Camps.  We support them on their local actions.
  • Election Preparedness
    • The Statewide Working Group on Election Preparedness focuses on the exchange of ideas and solutions across California groups.  Past discussions on Zoom have included Debunking Bad Information, Rapid Response Plans and Networks, How to help Arizona, Texas and Nevada and contacting our California officials to get accurate information.
  • Safety Over Surveillance - Indivisible California (SOS IC)
    • Statewide group to share and create data, tools and actions against the surveillance state. We are actively forming the group on Signal. We do not have a meet-up time yet. We plan to meet virtually in early fall.
  • GOTV
  • Affordable Housing
    • The Affordable Housing Working Group brings together Indivisible
members from across California who want to help address the state’s
affordable housing crisis. The group focuses on practical,
evidence-based ways to increase the supply of affordable housing,
preserve existing affordable homes, support renters and vulnerable
residents, and help local groups engage effectively with elected
officials, public agencies, housing advocates, and developers.

Our goal is to share information, successful strategies, resources,
and policy ideas across regions so local Indivisible groups can take
informed action on affordable housing in their own communities while
      also supporting effective statewide solutions.
  • Prop 4
    • The Prop 4 work group is working with the Yes on 4 campaign to spread the promotion of Proposition 4 in the 2026 election, which lifts a ban on public funding of political campaigns in California at the local and state level.  We're aiming to create a set of resources that local Indivisible groups can use to augment the campaign, even if they don't have the capacity to engage the campaign directly.
  • Youth Engagement
    • The Youth Engagement Work Group is focused on meeting young people (of various age groups) where they are and supporting their growth into activism as we head into the 2026 midterms and 2028 Presidential election. The purpose of this group is to amplify the youth engagement programs that Indy groups across California are already using; to share tools and resources; and to encourage all of us to test out and adopt new ideas that will bring more young people into the Resistance! We will be launching monthly meetings soon, but in the interim you can join this engaging group over Signal where we are brainstorming our workplan.

To learn more and join any of the Working Groups, complete the interest form which will be forwarded to the Working Group leaders so they can let you know how best to get involved.
