Saturday's No Kings has a different job than the last three. The coalition is calling October 17 [No Kings: Vote Early](https://www.nokings.org/?ref=indivisibleca.net), a nonpartisan voter participation day, and the [more than 2,000 events organizers say are planned nationwide](https://www.citizen.org/news/no-kings-vote-early-crosses-2000-events-during-national-voter-education-week/?ref=indivisibleca.net) are meant to help eligible voters register, check their status, understand their ballots, make a plan to vote early, and connect with election protection work. The nonviolence commitment carries over: de-escalate, act lawfully, leave weapons at home.

By our count of the [No Kings event feed](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/?ref=indivisibleca.net) on October 14, counting each event once by its listing ID, 312 of Saturday's events are in California, spread across 221 cities and towns, and more than 80 of those listings name an Indivisible group as host. Chapters have posted more on their own Mobilize pages. Here is what those groups have built, as described in their own listings, followed by the rest of the state.

The timing is the point. California counties were [required to begin mailing ballots by October 5](https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/upcoming-elections/general-election-november-3-2026?ref=indivisibleca.net), and the regular registration deadline is Monday, October 19\. Anyone who misses that date can still [register conditionally and vote a provisional ballot](https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/upcoming-elections/general-election-november-3-2026/key-dates-deadlines?ref=indivisibleca.net) at a county elections office or an open vote center through November 3.

## Parties at the drop box

The clearest pattern in the Indivisible listings is the ballot drop box as the destination. [Indivisible Sonoma County](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1046251/?ref=indivisibleca.net) is throwing parties at five drop boxes at once, in Santa Rosa, Cotati, Guerneville, Petaluma, and Sebastopol, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a whiteboard to tally ballots and a cowbell that rings for each one that goes in. [Indivisible Santa Maria](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1037729/?ref=indivisibleca.net) is running four simultaneous events pointed at the drop boxes in Santa Maria, Orcutt, and Guadalupe, with a stated goal of 70 percent turnout. [Indivisible SF](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1020762/?ref=indivisibleca.net), with 50501SF and their coalition, gathers at 18th and Dolores at 1 p.m. for a rolling block party through the Mission that ends at a ballot box. [WeHo-Fairfax Indivisible](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1052229/?ref=indivisibleca.net) makes signs at the West Hollywood dog park at 11 a.m., then walks ballots to City Hall at 1 p.m. [Courageous Resistance / Indivisible of the Desert](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1038438/?ref=indivisibleca.net) runs a ballot drop-off and voter assistance station at Palm Springs City Hall. [Sonoma Valley Indivisible](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1056438/?ref=indivisibleca.net) and Wake Up Sonoma say theirs is not a protest at all, just a march to the drop boxes with completed ballots in hand.

## Overpasses and corners

[Indivisible El Dorado](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1038424/?ref=indivisibleca.net) is covering nine Highway 50 overpasses between Cameron Park and Placerville from 9 to 11 a.m. with large-letter "No Kings, Vote Now" signs aimed at the morning traffic. Indivisible East Bay has 13 listings on its own Mobilize page, a mix of overpass brigades on I-580 and I-80 and "Democracy Corners" at Grand Lake, Fruitvale, College and Keith, Shattuck and Vine, and Park and Leimert. Indivisible Sacramento has two banner drops at 9 a.m., on I-5 at Sutterville and Highway 99 at 5th Avenue, and a honk-and-wave at Truxel and Gateway Park at 10\. Indivisible Westside LA takes the 405 at 2 p.m., Indivisible Rise and Shine takes the I-10 bridge in Baldwin Park at 8 a.m., and Humboldt Indivisibles take the 101 pedestrian overpass in Arcata at 10\. [Indivisible Ridge Warriors](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1036495/?ref=indivisibleca.net) in Paradise will have attendees spell out V-O-T-E E-A-R-L-Y one letter per sign along both sides of the street.

## Families, costumes, and parades

[Indivisible Mid-Peninsula](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1039493/?ref=indivisibleca.net) turns Red Morton Park in Redwood City into a four-hour festival from 9 a.m., with a "Democracy Dogs" parade, a kids' treasure hunt, and voter information tables. [Northridge Indivisible](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1050782/?ref=indivisibleca.net) sets up a kids' ballot drop box at its Northridge Park event, with an official drop box for the grown-ups. [Indivisible CA-45](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1049096/?ref=indivisibleca.net) in Brea asks everyone to come in Halloween costume under the banner "Don't Boo, Vote Early." Tahoe Truckee Indivisible suggests dressing as a ballot box or a chad. Indivisible Ukiah marches in the Pumpkinfest parade. Indivisible Nevada County runs decorated-car "Caravans to the Cause" from Nevada City and Grass Valley to a noon rally at Brunswick and Sutton. Indivisible ReSisters Contra Costa starts with a car-decorating launch party in Concord at 11 a.m. and ends with a rally in Pleasant Hill at 3\. Estero Bay Indivisible runs rolling events with music and snacks in Morro Bay at 10 a.m. and Los Osos at 1 p.m.

## Everywhere else

Those are the standouts. The rest of the Indivisible map is corners and honk-and-waves in dozens more towns, from Trinidad and Arcata on the North Coast to Stockton, Hollister, and Cambria in the middle of the state, to Burbank, Whittier, Lakewood, Newport Beach, Irvine, and Palmdale in the south. Indivisible Alameda warms up at Chochenyo Park before its City Hall rally. Indivisible Berkeley has a full program at Civic Center Park, alternating songs with short talks on Prop 45, license plate surveillance, and Ukraine. Search the [feed](https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/?ref=indivisibleca.net) by zip code for the one nearest you.

## San Diego and the rest of the state

The OB Rag counts [21 events across San Diego County and nearby Temecula](https://obrag.org/2026/10/no-kings-vote-early-21-events-planned-across-san-diego-county-for-october-17/?ref=indivisibleca.net), and several incorporate a ballot drop-off. La Jolla Indivisible rallies at Girard and Pearl at 10 a.m., then walks to the Riford Library drop box. Indivisible Fallbrook is running a "Bring Your Own Ballot" rally. Change Begins With ME Indivisible is setting up family voting stations with mock ballots for kids in University City. Julian Indivisible walks to the library drop box, then celebrates at Mom's Pie House in Wynola. Wendy Gelernter of San Diego United explained the shift to the OB Rag: smaller, local events give organizers the best opportunity to connect directly with voters.

Other regional roundups overlap with the events above. FOX 11 lists [more than 50 events across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties](https://www.foxla.com/news/no-kings-vote-early-southern-california-events-october-17?ref=indivisibleca.net), including a downtown gathering at Gloria Molina Grand Park from 1 to 5 p.m. In Santa Barbara, a noon rally at Alameda Park [marches to De La Guerra Plaza and ends with a "Party to the Polls"](https://www.independent.com/events/no-kings-3-2/?ref=indivisibleca.net) at the City Hall drop box. KTVU's roundup lists [more than 30 Bay Area events](https://www.ktvu.com/news/list-no-kings-vote-early-rallies-happening-around-bay-area?ref=indivisibleca.net), and Fresno, Merced, Stockton, Tracy, Marysville, Lakeport, and Napa all have listings on the feed.

## If you're going

Bring your ballot if you have it; many events are organized around dropping it off together. If you are not registered or are not sure, go anyway and ask. Check your event listing or ask the organizers about volunteering, including election protection work between now and November 3.

Then on Sunday, remind one person that the regular registration deadline is Monday, and that conditional registration runs through Election Day.
