41 California Indivisible groups sent a letter to stop the 2,000-pound bomb sale to Israel.
A sign-on letter from Indivisible groups across California asks Senators Schiff and Padilla to co-sponsor a resolution of disapproval, oppose new military aid while Gaza is cut off, and reject NDAA provisions that would end Senate oversight.
September 22. 2026 Indivisible East Bay's Gaza Action Squad drafted a letter to California's senators, and the state network is collecting group sign-ons through Tuesday, September 22. The letter asks three things:
- Co-sponsor a Joint Resolution of Disapproval of the bomb sale, which is expected to come to the Senate soon after the sale is formally submitted.
- Oppose additional military aid to Israel as long as fuel and medical supplies are kept out of Gaza.
- Speak out against Section 1217 of the 2027 NDAA and Section 622 of the Intelligence Authorization Act, which would permanently entangle US and Israeli military and intelligence systems and remove the leverage the Senate still holds.
The letter draws on the account of Dr. Anatole Besman, a Vallejo surgeon working in Gaza this month, who describes hospitals running short of fuel for generators, incubators and ventilators that cannot run at capacity, and shortages of antibiotics, IV fluids and anesthetics, including for children undergoing amputations.
Individuals who want to act on their own can call both senators' offices and ask them to co-sponsor the JRD. Schiff: (202) 224-3841. Padilla: (202) 224-3553.
