California's November 3 ballot is a long one. Voters will choose a new governor, fill the other statewide offices, vote on judicial retention, and decide [14 statewide propositions](https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/ballot-measures/qualified-ballot-measures?ref=indivisibleca.net), on top of congressional, legislative, and local contests that vary by address. [Blue Voter Guide](https://bluevoterguide.org/state/california?ref=indivisibleca.net) gives voters a quick way to see which trusted progressive organizations back which choices before they decide.

## How it works

You enter your street address, and the site builds an address-specific guide to the races and measures on your ballot. A ZIP code alone won't work, since district lines cut across ZIP codes. The site says it [does not store or share your address](https://bluevoterguide.org/about?ref=indivisibleca.net).

Blue Voter Guide makes no recommendations of its own. It gathers the [public endorsements](https://bluevoterguide.org/about?ref=indivisibleca.net) of organizations that support democratic values and working families, and links each one to its source. You compare those endorsements, pick your own candidates and positions, then save, print, or share the finished guide. In partisan races, Republican candidates sit under a collapsed heading and can't be selected.

The ballot data starts with a nonpartisan nonprofit's information, and [volunteers add to it](https://bluevoterguide.org/about?ref=indivisibleca.net) from state and local election sources. Local coverage varies with volunteer capacity, and the site asks voters to report any race it has missed.

## What's in the California guide

The [California page](https://bluevoterguide.org/state/california?ref=indivisibleca.net) covers the statewide offices, Supreme Court retention votes, and all 14 propositions. Those run from Prop 1, the veterans and affordable housing bond, through measures on voter ID, a one-time wealth tax for health care and education, and public financing of campaigns.

Endorsers include groups California organizers already know, among them the [California Teachers Association](https://bluevoterguide.org/es/district/CA/California/49124/638?ref=indivisibleca.net) and [Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California](https://bluevoterguide.org/endorser-org/Planned%5FParenthood%5FAffiliates%5Fof%5FCalifornia/CA/8851?ref=indivisibleca.net). Each endorsing organization has its own page, so a voter who trusts one group can see its full slate at a glance. The site is also available in [Spanish](https://bluevoterguide.org/es/?ref=indivisibleca.net) and other languages.

## Built by volunteers

Blue Voter Guide has no paid staff and is [funded by small donors](https://bluevoterguide.org/about?ref=indivisibleca.net), with the Forward California Action Fund, a California 501(c)(4), as its fiscal sponsor. It is a close ally of Field Team 6 and financially independent of it. The project launched in 2022 with [more than 50,000 users in nine states](https://www.spreaker.com/episode/the-blue-voter-guide--53104164?ref=indivisibleca.net), and its [homepage](https://bluevoterguide.org/?ref=indivisibleca.net) now lists guides for every state. Blue Voter Guide reports that nine in ten users say it makes voting easier, and one in three say it helped them vote in races they would otherwise have skipped.

## Putting it to work

The guide is built for hesitant and infrequent voters, the people most likely to skip down-ballot races. That makes it a natural fit for get-out-the-vote work. Chapters can drop the link into texts, emails, postcards, and phone bank scripts, and organizations can become [partners](https://bluevoterguide.org/partners?ref=indivisibleca.net) at no cost to get a co-branded homepage with their own logo and message.

Key dates from the [Secretary of State](https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/upcoming-elections/general-election-november-3-2026/key-dates-deadlines?ref=indivisibleca.net): early voting sites and ballot drop-off locations opened October 5\. October 19 is the last day to register, and from October 20 through Election Day voters can still register conditionally and cast a provisional ballot. Vote centers in Voter's Choice Act counties open October 24\. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on November 3, and mailed ballots count if postmarked by Election Day and received by November 10.
