Welcome to the online home of the Indivisible California State Network! Our core purpose is to enhance the experience of Indivisible groups and contribute to the broader mission and goals of Indivisible.
We achieve this by improving communication and resource-sharing between the approximately 300 Indivisible Groups across California.
Our Philosophy
We believe in collaboration and community support. The Indivisible California State Network is designed to create opportunities and share resources; it is not meant to control local groups. We exist to support and enable, not lead. Participation in our network is entirely opt-in.
Please note: The Indivisible California State Network is, and will remain, independent from Indivisible CA: StateStrong (CASS), which is a separate coalition dedicated to passing progressive state policies.
What We Do
We serve as a central hub connecting local Indivisible groups and state working groups. To support our network, we provide the following:
- Consistent Communication: We keep groups informed through a regular newsletter and our website.
- Regular Gatherings: We facilitate regular, opt-in meetings as well as special guest events hosted on Zoom.
- Resource Sharing: We maintain a central repository for shared documents.
- Local Connections: We help facilitate connections between Indivisible groups that are geographically close to one another.
- Rapid Response: We bring groups together when urgent action is necessary, coordinating efforts for sign-on letters and call-ins.
- Working Group Support: We support both temporary and permanent Working Groups formed by local leaders to tackle pressing issues, ensuring all participating California groups can send a representative and amplifying the effectiveness and reach of each workgroup.
Our Team
The Indivisible California State Network is driven by a dedicated group of volunteers from across the state. Our management team is elected annually during a 60-day period each January (with a special 30-day initial election period in 2026). Our Guiding Principles
We recognize that coordinating hundreds of groups and members is challenging, especially when addressing complex and emotionally charged subjects. The Indivisible California State Network team is committed to modeling calm, thoughtful, and respectful behaviors at all times, and we design our systems to encourage respectful conversations across our entire community while respecting privacy and the security of our systems.
